Compressed air foam systems for the power generation industry
Power generation facilities face serious fire risks, particularly from lubrication oil in generators, gearboxes and transformers. To address these challenges, FireDos, represented in Southern Africa by DoseTech Fire, offers a highly effective solution: compressed air foam (CAF) systems combined with their GEN III foam proportioning technology. CAF is a firefighting system that creates dense, homogeneous foam using water, foam concentrate and compressed air or gas. This engineered foam provides superior fire suppression, offering enhanced back-burn resistance, improved vapour suppression and excellent surface adhesion. It’s particularly well-suited to flammable liquid fires typical in power plants, wind turbines and substations.

The Industrial Fire Slip-On is built for decades, not just for seasons like the off-the-shelf units available in the market.

Survival Technology: A world first for rescue training!
An exciting collaboration between medical simulation experts Lifecast Body Simulation and rescue training manikin manufacturers Ruth Lee allows us to introduce a world-first for water rescue training, the Advanced Water Rescue Manikin. We want to see a world where appropriate clinical care can be practised in an environment where it will take place for real. That means medical stabilisation at height, in confined spaces and both ‘in’ and ‘on’ water. Unlike anything else available to rescue teams, this manikin will allow you to accurately simulate the rescue of a drowning victim from the water and then continue with essential medical care once it is pulled into your boat or onto dry land.

Firexpo: Fire safety in focus, protecting lives and livelihoods
From 21 to 23 October 2025, the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) will welcome the first-ever Western Cape edition of Firexpo. Co-located in one hall with Securex South Africa, A-OSH Expo and Facilities Management Expo, the event will provide visitors with an integrated view of how fire safety connects to broader workplace protection, operational efficiency and building management. “The urgency of fire safety in the Western Cape is difficult to overstate. In 2024/25, Cape Town recorded 3773 residential fires, with 166 fatalities, despite a 25% improvement on the previous year. In informal settlements, where high-density living and limited infrastructure create additional vulnerabilities, up to 115 lives are lost annually because of fire,” says Mark Anderson, portfolio director at Montgomery Group Africa.
