NEFSFPA AGM 2025-03-19

The North Eastern Free State Fire Protection Association (NEFSFPA) successfully held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, 19th March 2025, at the Verkykerskop Farmers Association. We extend our sincere gratitude to all members, stakeholders, and guests who attended and contributed to a productive and engaging event.

This year’s AGM focused on the critical theme of Integrated Fire Management (IFM), emphasizing the importance of a collaborative and strategic approach to wildfire prevention and management in our region.

  • Review of the 2024 Fire Season: The meeting included a comprehensive review of the past fire season, highlighting the challenges faced and the successes achieved in protecting our communities and environment from wildfires. Key statistics and insights relevant to the North Eastern Free State were shared.
  • Networking and Collaboration: The AGM provided a valuable opportunity for attendees from various sectors – including landowners, community representatives, industry experts, and government agencies – to connect, network, and build stronger collaborative relationships.
  • Updates on NEFSFPA Initiatives: Members received updates on NEFSFPA’s ongoing initiatives and projects aimed at strengthening fire prevention, preparedness, and response capabilities within the FPA.

– Basic FPA Membership Fee was adjusted from R300 to R500.

– Cost per Hectare stays at 50 cents per Hectare.

NEFSFPA would like to thank the Verkykerskop Farmers Association for hosting our AGM and providing a welcoming venue. We also extend our appreciation to all speakers and participants who contributed their time and expertise to make the event a success.
